I was born in San Francisco and spent the first 15 years growing up in Daly City near the San Francisco border. When I was in high school, we moved in to The City where I attended St. Rose Academy. I graduated high school in 1982. Later I attended San Francisco State University, City College of San Francisco and Santa Rosa Junior College taking writing, business technology, marketing, advertising, art and design, veterinary technology, business management, law enforcement, and computer technology classes.

My mom comes from a long history of all types of dogs, birds and other small animals. Her mother owned a grooming salon for several years in San Francisco during the 1960's. My dad's parents were Italian immigrants at the turn of the 20th century, so to them animals were livestock that were to be kept outside. However, when he married my mom and had me and my four brothers and sisters, he got accustomed to the various types of dogs, birds, hamsters, rabbits, fish and reptiles that filled up the house.

I continued that tradition when I moved out at 19 and took the family dog with me. Actually, he was my dog, but everybody loved Prezo! I have never been without a dog in my life, and I, also, have had a variety of rabbits, hamsters, fish and birds all successfully living in rental housing throughout the Bay Area since 1983.I want to give to you all the knowledge and experience I have a accumulated in a lifetime of having pets and over 25 years of successfully living in rental housing.I have also titled several dogs in competition obedience, agility, disc dog, conformation, rally obedience and temperament testing. Please scroll down to the bottom to view my pets' individual pages.
I spent several years volunteering in animal shelters in various roles, including administering temperament tests, evaluating shelter animals for adoption, and training other volunteers to perform these tests and evaluations. I worked as an animal control officer performing various types of field duties from quarantines, picking up stray animals, assisting the local police, and educating the public on proper care and treatment of their pets. I also was certified in the euthanasia of domestic and wild animals. One of the things I discovered while working in shelters is that two of the top reasons for surrendering an animal to a shelter are behavorial problems in the pet and the inability to find rental housing that will accept pets, especially dogs.My mission now is to help to keep pets with their people, improve their relationships and stop them from loosing their precious homes due to the lack of housing. And when they become lost or stolen, I want to return them home again safe and sound!
