Dot was adopted from Trinity County Animal Shelter in Weaverville in October 2008. She was surrendered with seven one week old puppies.

Dot is fully trained as a scent specific dog and participates in many searches.
When not tracking lost pets, Dot participates in sprint racing, lure coursing and weight pulling. She has completed the first level of weight pulling with the United Kennel Club and earned the United Weight Pull title "UWP". Dot is only one of a hand full of dogs in the country to currently have earned the SR2 sprint racing title, through the All Breed Lure Coursing Association.
